This is a wind test of the Schoeps W5D and Rycote Baseball to see how these indoor windjammers deal with a modest breeze.

Rycote Baseball

This ingenious little 3” windscreen has been specifically designed for interior boom pole use. The Baseball greatly reduces the ‘swooshes’ (unwanted noise artifacts caused by laminar airflow across the mic) induced by fast boom swings and other rapid movements.

The foam encloses an air chamber around the capsule, similar to a basket windscreen. It is highly effective, yet it has only a slight influence on the sound. When using CCM _L compact microphone, please be careful to place the W 5 D all the way onto it. The W 5 D cannot be used with the KC Active Cable, CCM _U compact microphones and microphone capsules for lateral pickup (MK 6, MK 4V, MK 41V, MK 4VXS, or MK 8), or the corresponding CCM compact microphones.
