What is Tinnitus?
Tinnitus comes from a range of possible places. A build-up of earwax, infections in the middle ear or inner ear can all sometimes be responsible for ‘ringing in the ears’ sound. There are also psychological triggers from some people like stress or anxiety.
Occasionally temporary tinnitus can occur as a result of sudden loud noises like a gunshot or a blow to the head.
It isn’t always ringing though. Other tinnitus sounds include buzzing, humming, hissing, sizzling, whistling and even grinding.
